Firstly of course our sincere condolences to Margaret and girls Natalie, Melanie and Tara and not forgetting grand children and great grandchildren that Bob (PT) Southern, absolutely adored.  PT played over 100 games for the Roos’ in the 60’s, but he is fondly remembered for his infamous goal for North Perth against Wanneroo in the 1962 Grand Final. Legend has it that PT, marked an errant kick in the forward pocket and cooly went back in an impossible angle with a wobbly mongrel punt somehow put it through robbing the Roos’ of their first possible flag by a lousy 2pts. In 1962 North Perth Football Club disbanded and Bob(PT) Southern and a number of NP joined the Roos’.At first not a popular figure, but the boys wrapped their arms around the ever popular,lovable and warm Bob Southern.He will be sorely missed at our luncheons and Past Players functions.
